S'lichot (Guest Speaker: Ruth Messinger, JTS Finkelstein Institute Social Justice Fellow)

A powerful evening of learning, introspection and conversation as Shaarei Tikvah and the Pelham Jewish Center welcome guest speaker Ruth Messinger, the inaugural Louis Finkelstein Institute Social Justice Fellow at the Jewish Theological Seminary of New York. Messinger is the former president of American Jewish World Service, Manhattan Borough President and tireless advocate for social justice.  The program, “Tshuvah for America”, will focus on the Jewish concept of tshuvah, which is the constant spiritual process of returning to a better self through dedicated work and a vision of self improvement. We will discuss how this applies to our nation during challenging times and how we can bring our core values to bear. This experience is open to the community. Let us begin our New Year on the right foot.
