Cantor Cohen’s 30th Anniversary Concert

A giant musical celebration featuring prominent performers, cantors and the Westchester chapter of HaZamir, the International Jewish High School Choir.  Selections will span Jewish traditions, Broadway, the Great American Songbook, operatic gems and Cantor Cohen’s own compositions.  Performers include:

  • Ilana Davidson, a radiant soprano, who originated the leading soprano roles in both of Cantor Cohen’s operas;
  • Cantor Natasha Hirschhorn, a fellow cantorial faculty member and superb soprano, composer and pianist;
  • Cantor Magda Fishman—a former student of Cantor Cohen—a brilliant cantor, who is also a star interpreter of Israeli and Broadway music;
  • Cantor Asa Fradkin, also a former student, is an outstanding baritone, who shines in a wide variety of music, including cantorial and opera.
  • Linda Hall Gerson, a long-time assistant conductor and pianist for the Metropolitan Opera, who has played for many concerts at Shaarei Tikvah.
  • The Westchester Chapter of HaZamir, the international Jewish high school chorus which recently performed at the Metropolitan Opera House.
