An evening of musical voyages featuring the Cassatt String Quartet, clarinetist Vasko Dukovski, bassist Pablo Asian and Shaarei Tikvah Cantor Gerald Cohen.
The concert’s theme is voyages, both international and interplanetary, featuring tangos, Romani dances and Cantor Cohen’s Voyagers, a tribute to the interplanetary journey of the Voyager spacecraft on the 40th anniversary of its launch. Premiered at the Hayden Planetarium in 2017, Voyages focuses on several musical pieces included on the Voyagers “Golden Record” featuring music and images of the earth. The composition celebrates humanity’s quest to explore the universe and the power of music to express the rich emotional and cultural world of human beings.
Acclaimed as one of America’s outstanding ensembles, the Manhattan based Cassatt String Quartet has performed throughout North America, Europe, and the Far East, Vasko Dukovski, is a New York based multi-instrumentalist virtuoso and diverse stylistic performer, one of the most-sought-after instrumentalists of his generation.
